Effect of distillation methods on the leaf essential oil of some <i>Citrus</i> cultivars

This study aimed to characterize the chemical composition of leaf essential oil (EO) mandarin and tangor trees obtained by steam distillation hydrodistillation. Leaf samples were collected during pruning period from seven citrus cultivars in a property located Pareci Novo, Rio Grande do Sul state, South Brazil. The leaves underwent hydrodistillation distillation, EO was analyzed GC-MS GC-FID. In general, Citrus deliciosa mandarins had higher yields than ‘Ponkan’ tangors both methods. presented amounts methyl N-methyl anthranilate ?-terpinene. ‘Ponkan’, ‘URSBRS Hada’ ‘Murcott’, there predominance linalool terpinen-4-ol. extraction method influenced contents compounds mainly, while genetic factors determined variations leaves.
